BIOGRAPHY

I am a 28-year-old drummer originally from Culiacan, Sinaloa. I began playing drums at 16 yrs old and studied at the school of music Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa. In 2000 I moved to Mexico City to attend the school Fermatta and study contemporary music. During that time I was influenced by many types of music such as jazz, funk, fusion, Latin jazz, and inspired by great musicians like Antonio Sanchez, Eddie Vedder, Horacio Hernandez, Travis Barker, Pat Methany, Pearl Jam, Jaco Pastorius, Deftones, Incubus and many more. I've been a member of many diverse bands and made live appearances in equally diverse theaters. In 2005, I took a jazz seminary in Xalapa Veracruz (Mexico) and became a member of The Green Project jazz band.  That same year, I decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue my career as a jazz and rock musician. Since moving to L.A., I've been the drummer for many bands including the Santa Monica jazz big band, Justin Lanning and Los Angeles city college Jazz Big band. In 2006 I was hired as the musical director for the Latin pop star Noelia, preparing her U.S. tour & appearing on international TV shows such as Scandalo TV, La Oreja & El Gordo y La Flaca. I'm currently member of the rock punk band Collinz Room www.myspace.com/collinzroom. I also have a jazz fusion project (Luis Campos trio) with Ric Fierabracci on bass (www.ricfierabracci.com) and Jeff Milley on Guitar. I work as a session drummer and I teach drums in my studio located in North Hollywood.
